Shanghai Travel: Oriental Pearl Tower

Once you come out of the Lujiazui metro station (陆家嘴), you will see the above signboard which shows you the directions of the various attractions around the station.

The Oriental Pearl Tower (东方明珠塔) is located at Lujiazui (陆家嘴) in the Pudong district, by the side of Huangpu River (黃浦江), opposite The Bund of Shanghai. The design of the building is based on a verse of the Tang Dynasty poem Pipa Song by Bai Juyi (白居易) about the wonderful sprinkling sound of a pipa instrument, like pearls, big and small falling on a jade plate (大珠小珠落玉盘). To get there, take the metro to Lujiazui Station (陆家嘴).
