Hokkaido Travel: Sapporo - ESTA

Eating ramen is a must in Hokkaido, especially in Sapporo. At ESTA (札幌拉面共和国), you can find a cluster of the 8 popular ramen shops here. All you need is to compare the descriptions and pictures of the menu and posters to decide which shop's ramen you want to try. The main difference among them is the soup base, whether it is salt, miso or soya sauce based.

Hokkaido Travel: Sapporo - Genghis Khan Barbeque Eatery

This is the famous Genghis Khan (成吉思汗) barbecue eatery in Sapporo, open from evening to past midnight. Barbecue of lamb and mutton with vegetables, grilled on a round convex plate. Simply delicious! The main shop and its branch is just a few streets away from each other. Many locals come here to have dinner, so do expect long queue of up to 45 minutes or more.
